Emma
Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson was born in Paris France to British parents Jacqueline Luesby and Chris Watson, both lawyers. As a young girl of just five when she left for Oxfordshire and enrolled in her first Dragon School. Emma was only six when she decided she wanted to become an actress. She trained for several years in Stagecoach Theatre Arts, a full-time school of theatre in Oxford where she was taught acting as well as singing. Through a school play as well as the stage of a Stagecoach production, Emma took the lead at the age 10, and acted. Casting began in 1999 for Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2001) the movie adaptation of British writer J.K. Rowling's bestselling novel. Casting agents found Emma via her Oxford theater teacher. David Heyman informed Emma, Daniel Radcliffe, and Rupert Grint after 8 auditions. They were cast as three leads Hermione Gringer Harry Potter Ron Weasley. Emma's first film on the screen came in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, released in 2001. The most successful film of 2001 The film broke records in its first day revenue as well as opening weekend takings. The film was praised by critics who praised the film, particularly the younger actors. The well-known British publication The Daily Telegraph called her performance admirable. Emma's performance was nominated and won five awards later in the film.
